1 Week Later~
Hi again!
So its officially been one week since 'To Ensnare a Witch' has released woo!!
A Little Backstory
I just want to say thanks again to those who downloaded and/or added Ensnare to their collections~
I originally set out to complete this project in a month, in October, as sort of a self-imposed game jam for Halloween. This story was already connected to my other visual novel, 'Nix Day' so I thought I should get it complete first before the year ended.
Although I didn't finish Ensnare until last week, I'm glad I was able to complete it in a decent amount of time.
I sound like a broken record saying this again, but it still feels strange to have a completed project after so many years.
Not sure if people following me now, were following me a decade ago on my other accounts, but I originally majored in game design in college out of high school.
To say the least, I went through a lot there being a minority at a private college. I dropped out due to horrible treatment by both my peers and faculty(to give an idea, it was things similar to what employees experienced at Blizzard ect) changing schools/majors and was afraid to do anything game related again considering those individuals still work in the game industry to this day.
So I am extremely happy and proud of myself that I've come this far after everything I experienced. I know this seems small to some people, but this was a big step for me to take in so many years of living in fear. I am also closer to getting my stories in this universe complete as I want to.
So thanks once again for supporting my work! I know Ensnare is pretty offbeat and not for everyone but I thank people just the same.
Other Updates
In the meantime, I have been working on fixing the android build I've been testing. It seems a little wonky in consideration to the different display effects I have going on in Ensnare. I'll let people know where I am with that once I do more tests.
I've also thought about a linux build version but as I haven't used linux in quite awhile. So that may take a bit to get together. I know how I can test everything/getting an environment to test in though. As well as knowing that the linux distrib. renpy builds usually works out of the box, but I still want to take my time on that.
Also, I tested a web build. It worked, but unfortunately because of itchio's zip limit size its unable to be uploaded(I'm about 700 files over X__X).
I'll keep that limitation in mind for future project releases. Don't mind the reupload of 'To Ensnare a Witch(Windows)(Update Build 1.2)' its the same build from last week with those little fixes. I messed up something when I tried uploading the web version and had to delete the update upload... don't ask loool. Feel free to download it again if you want though.
Edit: 11/23 Please download the latest '1.3 update' instead for a game break fix thanks!
So anyways, I'll keep working on the android and linux builds, plus any other little bugs I find in Ensnare, giving an update when needed.
That's about it for now.
Until next time,
Bye!
